Trip to Siem Reap (Cambodia) - Day 5

Plan for today was to take TukTuk ride to Tonle Sap lake in the morning , come back to hotel after lunch for relaxation , and then visit the night market/pub street for final shopping and dinner.

It was a sunny morning and NiTa was back with his tuk tuk. But by the time we finished our breakfast, and we were about to start for Tonle Sap it started raining heavily!! This morning rain was something like heavy mansoon shower. At one moment we had almost dropped the plan to go out , but within 30 mins after the showers had reduced decided to start for Tonle Sap.  NiTa was kind to drive us through the rains.

Mid way to Tonle Sap the rain had almost stopped. It was a 30 mins tuktuk ride to Tonle Sap.

After we reached Tonle Sap, realised that from boat station it would be another 30 mins boat ride one way to Tonle Sap. Because it was still cloudy and may have rained again we decided not to go for the boat ride.

......for our next destination 'artisan D'angkor'. NiTa left with his tuk tuk after saying a final good bye!

Artisans D'Angkor

I recommend 'artisan D'angkor' for every art lover vising Siem Reap.Artisans D'angkor is a Cambodian social business creating job opportunities for young people in rural areas, while reviving traditional Khmer craftsmanship (stone and wood carving, painting on statues and on silk, lacquering, and silver plating).

Prices here are at a higher end and are fixed. You may end up getting better deals in the market outside after bargaining!

Please check this official site of 'astisan D'angkor' for details.

Its only a 10 mins walk from here to the main market.Had lunch at a road side restaurant ......
