Trip to Siem Reap (Cambodia) - Day 4

The plan for today was to visit the 'Angkor National Museum' in the morning and later in the evening experience the sunset at Angkor Wat .The 2 day temple pass gives visitors a 3rd free day!

We were also checking in at a new hotel 'The Lay Sung residence' at 2 pm today.

NiTa was back again with his tuk tuk today. After breakfast , it was a pleasant morning ride to the 'Angkor National Museum' .The adult ticket costs USD 12 and USD 6 for the kids below 12.

Angkor National Museum
The 'Angkor National Museum' is a world class must visit museum with multiple galleries , audio visual displays and thousands of artifacts , and I would recommend to visit it before the temples so that you can make sense of many things that you see at the temples.

We were at the the museum for more than 3 hours , but one may easily spend a whole day there if he is more into history , arts , Hindu mythology. The museum also houses a souvenir/gift shop .The high end duty free shopping center adjacent to the museum can be given a miss.

Check this official museum site for details.

Family had lunch at an Indian restaurent named 'Curry Walla' while returning back to the hotel .I wasn't yet hungry after the heavy breakfast.

Once back at the 'Rithy Rine Angkor residence', completed our check out formalities. I liked this hotel for its location. Its right next to night market , pub street , restaurants , massage centers , but still away from the crowd!

TukTuk ride to 'The Lay Sung Residence' hotel
After checking out of  'Rithy Rine Angkor residence' , NiTa dropped us at our new hotel 'The Lay Sung Residence' where we would be staying for the next 2 nights.

The 'The Lay Sung Residence' is a 8 to 10 mins tuk tuk ride from the city center. It has more open spaces and cottage like rooms. We were welcomed with a welcome drink.
